  • The Role: 

    On behalf of our bank partners and in accordance with their policies and procedures, we oversee and manage third party collectors, who employ these digital and mobile processes along with the traditional cross-section of letters, emails and telephone calls to encourage payment.

    We are seeking a strategic and data driven VP of Collections and Recovery to integrate with our cross functional teams to execute our bank partners’ collections and recovery strategies across multiple managed portfolios.  This role will play a critical part of the daily management of the Collections lifecycle including Recovery and Debt Sale processes.  We expect successful applicants to utilize technology, data analytics, and innovative strategies to optimize performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement data driven collections strategies across all levels of delinquency utilizing email, SMS, and traditional call center activities
    • Collaborate with leadership regarding collections activities including digital based collections communications
    • Manage monthly charged-off debt sale process
    • Manage relationships with multiple debt buyers and debt sale brokers, as applicable
    • Responsible point of contact for the coordination of portfolio sales, bankruptcy servicing, and inventory management
    • Primary point of contact working to ensure proper scrubs are performed for Sales
    • Assist with the onboarding and due diligence on all prospective debt buyers
    • Partner with internal teams in developing robust oversight of risks, controls, and compliance of collection vendors and debt buyers
    • Collaborate with product, data science, and customer service to enhance collections related workflows
    • Coordinate with Off-Shore centers and leadership to implement new processes and strategies
    • Drive process improvement through automation, workflow redesign, and A/B testing
    • Monitor industry trends and technology enhancements to ensure a continuous improvement strategy
    • Willing and able to travel internationally
  • You’re perfect for this role if you have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, and experience of 8+ years in the collections field
    • Experience in fintech, credit card, digital lending is desired
    • Deep understanding of the end-to-end borrower lifecycle, and regulatory landscape
    • Proven ability to lead in a tech driven, high growth, and innovative environment
    • Experience with industry vendors specializing in digital communications including direct drop voice mail, SMS, and Tableau are essential
    • Working knowledge of charged-off debt sale process
    • Excellent communication skills, (verbal and written), negotiation skills, cost benefit analytics
  • Location and Work Expectations: Hybrid work environment, with 3-4 days a week in office.  Office is located in Atlanta Georgia.
